ENG vs IND | Twitter stunned as Akash makes the Dukes talk to leave Brook cluelessly dismissed

A batter has less than half a second to react to a pacer's delivery, and less than half of that to react to any misbehavior by the deck. No wonder then that at even the most elite level of cricket, the best in the world often end up looking foolish -- like Harry Brook at Edgbaston on Sunday.

‌India were quick to press their case for a win on the final day of the second Test against England at Edgbaston atfer 10 overs of play were lost due to rain. Needing seven wickets to register their first ever victory at the venue, the visitors removed both incumbent batters Ollie Pope and Harry Brook within the first half an hour of play courtesy of a riveting opening spell from Akash Deep. While Pope's had theatrical value for the slow walkoff of the vice-captain, Brook's was a piece of cricket worthy enough to make it to the highlight reels of the tour when all is said and done.

Akash steamed in from around the wicket on the third ball of the 22nd over to Brook sitting deep in his crease and pitched the ball slightly back of a length. The England white-ball skipper sensed a bit of width and setup to flay his arms at it when the Dukes jagged in enormously off the deck. Brook could get his willow mnowhere near the red cherry and was left slumped over when the ball struck him on the thighs plumb in front of the stumps, resigning him to a long walk back to the dugout.

Akash was ecstatic at having broken the English charge early on on a historic day and Twitterati felt no differently.

What a ball!

Brilliant!

He's best now!

True!

He was just warming up himself!

LOL!

Agreed with that!

True it is!

He just bowled so good!

Hilarious!
