Catches win matches, they say and Kamindu Mendis once again proved it right during the CSK vs SRH match in IPL 2025 in Chennai on Friday. The Sri Lankan all-rounder plucked the ball out of thin air in a stupendous effort to dismiss Dewald Brewis sending shock waves among the viewers.

‌Sunrisers Hyderabad were ready to leave no stone unturned to get back in contention for a playoff spot as they put CSK in and reduced the host to 74/4 in the 10th over with Kamindu Mendis picking up the prized wicket of Ravindra Jadeja.

However, CSK crawled back into the match with Dewald Brevis blasting Mendis for three maximums in his next over. Another six off Harshal Patel in the fourth ball of the 12th over took Brewis to 42 off just 24 as he was settling in for a big knock.

But Mendis was not done yet as his moment of revenge came in the very next ball. As Harshal Patel bowled a slower delivery on a length outside off stump as Brewis went for another big hit. But the batter and the CSK faithful were in for a stunner as Mendis, stationed at long-off, ran towards his left and dived full stretch to complete a blinder.

The ambidextrous bowler had a Superman moment as he rolled the ball in his hands with a wry smile after completing the catch. The Twitter folks were stunned by his superhuman effort and were quick to vouch the effort as the catch of the IPL 2025.
