Chelsea’s initial €35 million (£29.5 million) offer for England U21 winger Jamie Gittens has been turned down by Borussia Dortmund, who want between €50-60 million (£42-50 million). Chelsea aims to sign Gittens ahead of the Club World Cup and values AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan at €15 million (£12.6 million). Negotiations continue.

Coming to the summer transfer window, Chelsea have seen their initial €35 million (£29.5 million) bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens rejected. Dortmund are holding out for a fee between €50-60 million (£42-50 million) to part ways with the England U21 international. Despite losing his regular starting spot towards the end of last season, Gittens remains a key target for Chelsea, who want to boost their attacking options ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The 20-year-old winger is keen to join Chelsea and already has a verbal agreement in place. Dortmund will also participate in the Club World Cup, meaning Chelsea must finalize the deal by the Tuesday deadline if they want Gittens to feature in the tournament. Chelsea's interest in strengthening their attack follows the decision not to sign Jadon Sancho permanently. The Blues have also completed the signing of striker Liam Delap and are considering other forward options like Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are prepared to offer up to €15 million (£12.6 million) for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who will turn 30 next month and has only one year left on his contract. The club also anticipates the likely departure of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with Arsenal poised to trigger his £5 million release clause.
