Manchester United have reportedly increased their bid for Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes to €62 million as they try and convince the Liga Nos side to try and sell. The 24-year-old does have a €100 million release clause to his name but Sporting are willing to accept a fee of around €70 million.

Manchester United have stepped up their chase for Bruno Fernandes with ESPN reporting that the Red Devils have made a second approach for the 24-year-old midfielder. They have been heavily linked with a move for the Portuguese star over the last six months or so, but no move has come to fruition as of yet.

That may change, with the report from the ESPN further adding that Manchester United have upped their bid to €62 million for the Portuguese international. He does have a €100 million release clause to his name, but the report further adds that Sporting are willing to accept a fee of around €70 million to allow Fernandes to leave.

The Mirror has further reported that Sporting Lisbon boss Marcel Keizer has dropped a hint regarding Fernandes’ future at the club, in that there is none. The Sporting boss has been actively searching for a replacement for the talismanic midfielder, promoting rumours that the midfield maestro does want to leave.

While Fernandes still remains as Manchester United’s top target, the Red Devils are also actively targeting John McGinn, Sean Longstaff and Dani Ceballos as potential options, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on reinforcing his midfield.
