RR vs MI | Twitter breathes a sigh of relief as Rohit survives with a last-second review

Seldom do we see players doubting to take a review even when they know well that the decision will not go in their favour. Contrary to that, a hesitant Rohit Sharma signalled a last gasp review after being convinced by his opening partner, to extend his stay at the crease in Jaipur on Thursday.

‌The IPL 2025 match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium started off with teams trying to fulfil contrasting objectives, Mumbai Indians looking to go top of the table and Rajasthan Royals aiming to survive another match in the tournament. With the Royals putting MI into bat it was a quiet start with Jofra Archer conceding just two runs in the first over.

Rohit Sharma, got going with the first boundary of the match off the fourth ball in the second over bowled by Fazalhaq Farooqi. The left-arm pacer bowled an inswinger next up that beat Rohit’s bat and crashed onto his pads as the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger.

Rohit also had the feeling that he had to walk back as it looked plumb in front in real time. Ryan Rickleton, Rohit’s opening partner, intervened and somehow convinced the Indian skipper to go for the review. Just as the timer ticked to its last second, Rohit signalled for the review. The South African batter saved Rohit as the ball appeared to be pitching outside leg stump in the replay. Twitteratti were relieved at the star batter taking the last-minute review which extended his stay at the crease.

Ohh! That was on time?

What a review!

Brilliant!

That relief from him! Huh!

It looked like!

OH!

May be yes!

Don't know!

It is not on time then?

That was so late there!
