Pollard was in full flow during the game, not only with bat and ball but also with his eccentricities, which have been a familiar sight to cricket fans all over the globe. He came into the middle in the 10th over with MI NY at a precarious 63/4 after the fall of skipper Nicholas Pooran.
However, Pollard was in his element when he pulled out a friendly banter against fellow countryman Andre Russell. The Mumbai Indians’ batting coach drove a slightly fullish delivery outside off-stump past the hands of a diving Russell. The bowler stayed down in disappointment at not stopping the ball as Pollard jogged across for a single.
The big man stopped right beside Russell to hit him with the bat in a friendly gesture as the bowler pointed fingers at Pollard and got up with a wide smile. Pollard responded with a wry smile, reminding the fans of MS Dhoni, who hit Ravindra Jadeja jokingly in the helmet after the southpaw hit an unbelievable six in an IPL 2019 match against Rajasthan Royals.
It's banter time!
POLLY 💀 What is happening today 😂
