DC vs RCB | Twitter fumes as Kohli’s run-out curse strikes again with Patidar the latest victim

At the biggest stage and a crucial juncture, senior players are expected to show better awareness while running between the wickets. However, Virat Kohli fell short during the clash against Delhi Capitals, where a mix-up led to Rajat Patidar’s run-out, leaving the RCB skipper stranded.

‌Delhi Capitals struggled after being put in to bat, losing Abishek Porel and Karun Nair early, but Tristan Stubbs' quickfire 34 lifted them to 162/8. RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar starred with three crucial wickets to keep the hosts in check. In reply, RCB had a terrible start, losing Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar early, with Patidar run out after a poor call by Virat Kohli.

On the last ball of the fourth over, Mukesh Kumar bowled a good-length delivery around off stump, which Virat Kohli knocked to the left of midwicket inside the circle. There was a moment of hesitation as both batters took a few steps forward, but Kohli eventually sent his captain, Rajat Patidar, back despite initially calling for a single. Karun Nair was stationed at midwicket, quickly gathered the ball and fired a direct hit at the non-striker’s end. Although the ball rebounded off the stumps and rolled to the boundary, Delhi Capitals weren't concerned as they were confident they had the big fish. Thereafter, TV umpire was called in, and the replays confirmed that Patidar was well short of his crease. The big screen flashed, “Out” and  Twitterverse was quick to slam Kohli, pointing out yet another poor judgment in running between the wickets that cost RCB their skipper.
