DC vs RCB | Twitter goes wild after Hazlewood’s dream ball castles Axar Patel’s middle stump

For any fast bowler, there’s no sweeter music than the crash of uprooted stumps. Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood experienced that joy against Delhi Capitals, delivering a perfect ball that outsmarted home captain Axar Patel and sent his middle stump cartwheeling at Kotla.

‌Rajat Patidar won the toss for the visitors and chose to bowl, but Abishek Porel's quick start gave DC early momentum. RCB's pacers fought back, with Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal picking up key wickets as the pitch began to slow down, making strokeplay difficult. Faf du Plessis and Axar Patel also fell, with DC reaching 72/3 at the halfway mark, struggling against the slower surface and disciplined bowling. The moment that sparked attention was Axar’s wicket by Hazlewood.

On the fourth delivery of the 14th over, the Australian pacer sent down a good-length ball targeting the middle stump at 136.5 km/h. The Delhi skipper, rooted to the crease, attempted a swipe across the line but missed it on the inside edge, only to hear the death rattle behind him. The ball clipped the top of the middle stump, sending it into a deep slumber. Hazlewood celebrated with quiet satisfaction with the stumps shattered as he claimed his 18th wicket of the season, strengthening his grip on the Purple Cap. The Twitterverse was awed by Hazlewood’s masterclass, showering praise across social media.
