Twitter welcomes back Rishabh Pant after outrageous reverse six

While ‘form is temporary and class is permanent’ and 'incredible’ are two of the most overused phrases in sport, Rishabh Pant’s audacity was the perfect description of both. In the match against CSK, Pant played a perfect reverse scoop for a six to signal his return to form in the IPL.

Lucknow Super Giants have been one of the surprise packages in the IPL thus far winning four of the first six games they have played. What is even more impressive is the fact that they have been able to do it without any contributions from their captain Rishabh Pant. The Indian wicketkeeper walked into the game against Chennai having scored a mere 40 runs in six matches for his new franchise.

With LSG losing two wickets in the powerplay and posting a low 42 in the field restrictions, Pant needed to stand tall. Even though he signalled his intent with a boundary in the powerplay, the Indian star brought out his usual best showcasing his natural genius. On the third ball of the seventh over, Pant picked up a Jamie Overton delivery and touched it with perfection to send the ball way over third man.

Not only did he get a fist bump from Mitch Marsh at the other end, Pant gathered a lot of plaudits from social media as well.

What a shot!

Let's See!

Back to form!

Extraordinary!

Superb!

Crazy shot!
