Emotions are not easy to control, and if you are Rohit Sharma, you’re more of a free-flowing person who lets emotions get the better of you even on the cricket field. His typical nature was evident during India’s first ODI against England when he reprimanded the onfield umpire before a review.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett backed their captain’s ploy with a magnificent 75-runs stand. However, a calamitous runout made way for a couple of wickets before Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell’s fifties propelled England near the 200-run mark. As the latter tried to accelerate after his half-century, the ploy backfired with India’s successful review plucking another English wicket in the innings.

The decision to bring replace Mohammad Shami with Ravindra Jadeja in the third powerplay worked well for captain Rohit with the all-rounder bowling a length delivery at the stumps to Bethell on the 43rd over’s fourth ball. The southpaw looked to slog across the line but ended up getting beaten on the inside edge and incurring a thud at the pad. Umpire KN Anantha Padmanabhan initially signalled it Not Out, frustrating captain Rohit Sharma was reviewed the decision. Subsequently, he was seen rebuking the umpire for some reason in his typical fashion before the TV umpire clarified the decision as Out. Ultraedge revealed no bat involvement followed by three reds on ball-tracking. Immediately, Rohit was seen ecstatic, spurring huge reactions in the Twitterverse.
