‌WATCH, ILT20 | Naib’s no-holds-barred reaction to Curran’s camaraderie after mocking bicep flex celebration

Sports is celebrated for fostering unity, yet conflicts between players are not uncommon. Sam Curran and Gulbadin Naib engaged in a funny banter during the final of the ILT20 League between the Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals when the latter rubbished the Englishmen’s camaraderie.

Eyeing to attain their maiden title in across franchise tournaments, the GMR-co-owned Dubai Capitals fielded first after winning the toss. Despite losing early wickets, fifties from Max Holden and Sam Curran, coupled with Azam Khan’s cameo propelled the Vipers to 189 runs in 20 overs. However, the spotlight was on the left-handed all-rounder who was tonking the opposition bowlers with freedom before mocking Gulbadin while reaching his fifty.

On the third ball of the 17th over, the medium pacer came around the wicket and bowled a fuller than a good length delivery near the off stump that Curran pushed back down the line. The bowler tried to reach out with his right hand on the rebounding white rock when it deflected back towards long off, allowing Curran to cross over. While completing the run, Curran mocked Gulbain’s bicep flexing celebration by raising his arms. Subsequently, the Afghan cricketer seemed offended and exchanged words despite Curran putting a hand over his shoulder as a warm gesture.

Curran vs Gulbadin!
