IND vs ENG | Twitter explodes as Jaiswal’s jaw-dropping screamer echoes Travis Head’s World Cup heroic

With plenty of cricket happening around the globe, eye-catching moments keep surfacing on the internet. However, not every day you get to relive a deja vu experience as the fans did after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s terrific catch that echoed Travis Head’s brilliance in the 2023 World Cup final.

Jos Buttler, the England captain seemed happy to bat first under sunny conditions in Nagpur. Openers, Phil Salt and Ben Duckett backed the skipper’s decision by piling up 71 runs in eight overs before a messy runout lead to the former’s departure. A couple of wickets followed suit with Harshit Rana getting the numbers under the wicket’s column. However, the second scalp involved a sensational take from Jaiswal who sprinted a long way to perfect an improbable catch, echoing Head’s catch off Rohit Sharma in 2023.

The third ball of the tenth over saw Rana bowl a short of a length ball outside the stumps that Duckett tried to pull off the back foot. He incurred a top-edge in the process and the ball hovered way past the mid-wicket region. However, Jaiswal at mid-wicket chased the white rock in the air with quick limbs and dived towards it to perfect the catch. Despite running back, he covered 21 meter distance and made ground perfectly to leave the Indian camp in jubilation. The Twitterverse did praise Jaiswal’s scintillating effort but the catch also sent flashbacks of Travis Head taking a blinder to remove Rohit Sharma in the final of World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad.
