Earlier today, the International Cricket Council (ICC) included four England players in the Test Team of the Year 2016, just two days after the team suffered a humiliating series defeat at the hands of hosts India. English skipper Alastair Cook, who was being criticized for his defensive strategy in the series, was named as the captain of the side.
This decision of making Cook as the skipper of the side was not accepted by many people, and how could Piers Morgan be stopped from giving his reaction? He is the number one critic of Cook by the way.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter instantly took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his surprise over the selection of Cook and the exclusion of Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli, who has been in a rampant form this year.
No Kohli & Cook captain of the year for losing EIGHT Tests - what a joke.
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan)
2016 should mean 2016, not 2/3 of it. Cook being made 'Captain of the Year' after this 4-0 India fiasco is an absolute farce.

However much unpleasant the tweet might seem for Cook or his followers, Piers Morgan has undoubtedly created a lot of Twiter followers in India for sure.
