After the controversies surrounding the pitch at Nagpur, DDCA working president Chetan Chauhan, who is also in charge of the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, had a meeting with chief curator Daljeet Singh to discuss the condition of the pitch at Kotla on Sunday.
"It will not be a pacer-friendly green top wicket. During Delhi's Ranji matches, wickets were pacer friendly but here it won't be like that. But I can assure you that we will produce a good Test match wicket," Chauhan said, reported PTI.
However, Chauhan refused to divulge details of his discussion with curator Daljeet Singh. ,"I had a meeting with Daljeet but it would not be fair on my part to divulge the details of my discussion with Daljeet," he added.
With foggy weather predicted at Delhi for the coming days, it is highly unlikely that Kotla pitch will be a dustbowl similar to Nagpur.
The Delhi government has also decided to felicitate the greats of Indian cricket during the fourth Test between India and South Africa. The players will comprise those from Delhi who were part of India’s World Cup winning squads in 1983 and 2011. Apart from them, the government will also felicitate former Delhi Captain Bishan Singh Bedi.
“Delhi Government to felicitate the Delhi heroes of 1983 & 2011 Cricket World Cup winning teams during the final test match at Delhi,” tweeted Rahul Mehra.
