Shooting | Manu Bhaker should apologize for her outburst, asserts Anil Vij

Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij has stated that a sportsperson should have a sense of discipline and Manu Bhaker should feel sorry for her outburst on Twitter. Bhaker was promised prize money of two crore rupees after she won a gold medal at the Youth Olympics but is yet to receive the money.

Youth Olympic Games gold medal winner Manu Bhaker had recently reminded the Haryana Government Sports Minister Anil Vij of his promise about giving the youngster a two crore prize money in a curt tweet. But the message has not gone down too well with Vij who has labelled the manner in which Bhaker tweeted as “disgusting” and has sought an apology from the player.

Bhaker had won a 10m air pistol Gold at 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires. After which she was promised the prize money by the Minister on Twitter. But she is yet to receive the money and thus expressed her anguish in the following tweets.

Vij recently disapproved of the manner in which Bhaker directly reached the Minister through Twitter and stated that she should have first confirmed it from the Sports Department. Vij also objected to the manner in which the tweet was written and said that it was in bad taste.

There should be some sense of decipline in players. Bhaker should feel sorry for creating this controversy. She has a long way to go. She should focus on her game only.

Since then, Bhaker has not tweeted a response.
