Suryakumar Yadav plays his favourite Supla shot against RR in Jaipur

Gone are the days of textbook shots as players have come up with innovative ideas to maximise their advantage in T20 cricket. However, Suryakumar Yadav went a step ahead bringing out another version of his copyrighted Supla shot during the RR vs MI match in Jaipur to have the viewers shell-shocked.

‌With the Mumbai Indians openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton providing a rollicking start to the proceeding with a 116-run partnership inside 12 overs, the mantle fell on Suryakumar Yadav and captain Hardik Pandya to provide the final flourish. The pair just did that adding 73 runs in just 33 balls and with Surya hitting top gear produced a moment of genius in the 19th over to demoralise Jofra Archer.

After blocking the English pacer’s first ball that was just under the bat, the Mumbai batter decided to shuffle across the stumps to explore his favourite area of the ground. Though he exposed all three stumps to the pacer his majestic touch meant he was not going to miss out even if he lost balance. He went to ground while making a clean connection with the bat and as the bat fell off his hands during the fall, the ball evaded the short fine leg fielder and reached the boundary cushion.

Twitteratti was in sheer disbelief as they labelled Surya’s newest version of his trademark as the rolling Supla shot.
