Sachin Tendulkar hit a blistering 64 for India Masters albeit in a losing cause against Australia Masters in Vadodara on Wednesday

Natural talent knows no age, which is why prodigies can stun the world in their tender teenage years and then reciprocate that same class in their 50s. The cricketing world has not known a better talent than Sachin Tendulkar, and the maestro was at it once again in the International Masters League.

Australia Masters cruised to a huge 97-run victory in their International Masters League group stage clash against India Masters at the Reliance Stadium. The visitors posted a mammoth total of 269/1 on the back of tons from Shane Watson and Ben Dunk, the duo sharing an unbeaten 236-run stand off just 93 deliveries for the second wicket. In response, India failed to muster multiple such back innings and eventually crumbled out for 174, their limited response largely a credit to the heroics of skipper Sachin Tendulkar up top.

The 51-year-old struck seven boundaries and four maximums in his 33-ball knock of 64, taking the team total to 100 in 10 overs before holing out off Xavier Doherty. The onslaught began on the second delivery itself when Sachin charged down the ground against Ben Hilfenhaus and carressed a trademark cover drive through the packed off-side field for a boundary. Hilfenhaus also conceded the inning's first maximum when Sachin authoritatively lofted him down the ground with a straight bat beyond the fence. THe very next vall Hilfenhaus produced a sharp bumper but the Master Blaster was ready for it as rocked back in the crease and hooked it over fine leg for another maximum. Boundaries also came down square leg and third man, hallmarking a fine exhibition of modern batting from the blade of a genius that retired more than a decade ago.

Twitter was unsusriprisingly in complete awe of the masterclass on display.
