South Africa star all-rounder and stand-in skipper Wiaan Mulder entered the record books as he achieved the highest score for a South African batter in Test cricket. While the Proteas declared on a total of 626-5, Mulder remained unbeaten on 367 off just 334 deliveries on day two.

South Africa went to a commanding position in the second Test against Zimbabwe, with star all-rounder and stand-in skipper Wiaan Mulder scoring a mammoth unbeaten triple hundred. The Proteas declared at 626-5 with Mulder stopping just short of Brian Lara's record for the highest individual score in Tests. After starting the day at 264, the all-rounder got a lot of support from David Bedingham ( 82 off 101) and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (78 off 87 deliveries) as the Proteas posted a huge total on the board.
Mulder continued his onslaught on Day 2 and went on to break the record for the highest score in Test cricket for a South African batter, ending his innings with a score of 367 off just 334 deliveries. His innings included 49 boundaries and four sixes and came at a strike rate of 109.88. The batter who earlier held this record was South Africa's legendary top-order batter Hashim Amla, who had scored 311 against England in 2012 at the Oval.
This is not the only iconic record Mulder has achieved, as he also made the highest Test score for a South African skipper in Test cricket, which was previously owned by Graeme Smith and puts him third on the list for the highest score by a Test captain behind West Indian legend Brian Lara and Sri Lanka great Mahela Jayawardene.
Speaking of the match, Zimbabwe's nightmare continued in the post-lunch session with the Chevrons losing three wickets in their first innings. Pacer Codi Yusuf claimed the wickets of T Kaitano and Nick Welch while Corbin Bosch dismissed Dion Myers.
