KKR vs GT | Twitter in awe as Gill makes mockery of Kolkata's plans with freakish wrist work

Generational talent makes itself shown one way or another, and Shubman Gill simply reeks of it. Monday against Kolkata Knight Riders was no different as the Gujarat Titans skipper rode his way to a match-winning 90, including a brilliant boundary against Moeen Ali that had everyone on alert.

Gujarat Titans' 198 seemed to prove more than enough on a sticky Eden Gardens deck in Kolkata on Monday as the Knight Riders lost two powerplay wickets to ultimatebly be left needing a mammoth 91 off the final six overs. The visitors' effort was fronted by skipper Shubman Gill, his 55-ball 90 laced with 10 boundaries and three maximums in a commanding display that did not began as it finished. It was not until the seventh over that the opener truly burst to life, doing so in style wtih 10 runs off the first two balls of Moeen Ali's third over. However, it was the next shot that truly made the world take notice and left Ajinkya Rahane in despair.

The hosts had packed the offside ring with fielders to restrict the run-flow and Moeen followed up on the plan with a wide full-delivery right by the tramline. Yet, it was not enough to stop Gill, as he extended his long levers and in one swift motion flicked his wrists with aplomb to pierce the gap at midwicket and gain another boundary. The English spinner was left clueless by the sheer diffidence and effortless stroke making on display, a theme that would pervade the rest of the night.

Twitterati, as always, was quick to shower praises on the 'Prince' of Indian cricket.
