When the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 begins on August 30 in Vizag, the UP Yoddhas will look to end their wait for a maiden title after years of consistent playoff runs. The GMR Sports-owned franchise has unveiled its new jersey and enters the season with a mix of experienced campaigners and young talent. In the raiding unit, Surender Gill will lead the charge with support from Bhavani Rajput and Guman Singh, while Korean import Dong Geon Lee adds international flair. Youngsters like Gagan Gowda and Pranay Rane will aim to prove their mettle with speed and agility.

On the defensive side, captain Sumit Sangwan anchors the left corner, supported by vice-captain Ashu Singh and Iranian powerhouse Mohammadreza Kaboudrahangi, expected to be the X-factor. The likes of Mahender Singh and Sahul Kumar bring added strength and stability to the backline.

The Yoddhas’ PKL 12 campaign starts against Telugu Titans on August 30 at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, followed by tough clashes with Patna Pirates, Haryana Steelers, Puneri Paltan, and Jaipur Pink Panthers in September. With a balanced lineup featuring Indian stars and overseas names, UP Yoddhas will aim to go beyond playoff appearances and finally challenge for the PKL crown.
