Brazilian winger Kayky, 22, has completed a permanent move from Manchester City to Bahia. Signed from Fluminense in 2021, Kayky made limited senior appearances and spent time on loan at Pacos de Ferreira, Sparta Rotterdam, and Bahia. After an ACL injury in 2023, he returned to form in Brazil, prompting the permanent transfer.

After the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, Manchester City confirmed the permanent departure of Brazilian winger Kayky, who has joined Bahia. The 22-year-old first arrived at the Etihad in April 2021 from Fluminense and played a role in helping City’s Elite Development Squad win the Premier League 2 title the following year. He made his senior debut that season, featuring briefly against Swindon Town in the FA Cup and Norwich City in the Premier League.

Over the next few years, Kayky was loaned to Pacos de Ferreira and Bahia before suffering a major setback with an ACL injury in July 2023, sidelining him for a year. Once fit, he spent the first half of the 2024-25 campaign at Sparta Rotterdam before rejoining Bahia on loan. His performances back in Brazil impressed the club, leading to a permanent move. The transfer, subject to international clearance, sees the young attacker officially exit the Manchester City setup.

The club acknowledged his departure with a message wishing him luck for the future. While Kayky had once hoped to carve a place for himself in European football, the move to Bahia offers him a chance to reignite his form and potentially earn another opportunity abroad down the line.
