Chelsea are negotiating with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons, potentially including Christopher Nkunku’s return to Germany in the deal. Leipzig, replacing Benjamin Sesko, value Simons at €70m, while Nkunku is seen at £40m. Chelsea are also in talks for Alejandro Garnacho and may sell Nicolas Jackson, valued at £65m, with Newcastle interested.

Just like the summer transfer window often delivers surprises, Chelsea are exploring a swap deal with RB Leipzig that could see Xavi Simons move to Stamford Bridge and Christopher Nkunku return to the Bundesliga club. Nkunku, signed by Chelsea in 2023 for £52m, has struggled to adapt in London and is being considered by Leipzig as a replacement for Benjamin Sesko, who joined Manchester United for £73.7m.

Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with 22-year-old Netherlands international Simons, who joined Leipzig from PSG in January for €50m (£43m) and is valued at around €70m (£61m). The Blues hope to offset the cost by including Nkunku, valued at £40m, but would still need to pay a significant additional fee. Leipzig are also monitoring Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, while Chelsea continue talks with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho.

To balance finances, Chelsea are looking to sell Nicolas Jackson, who has attracted interest from Newcastle after their failed pursuit of Sesko and other forwards. Jackson, valued at about £65m, trained alone on Friday after requesting a move and missed recent friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Milan. Newcastle are seen as frontrunners, though AC Milan have also been linked with the Senegal forward.
