ENG vs ZIM | Twitter in awe as Bashir's six-fer triggers Zimbabwe collapse to hand England innings win

Shoaib Bashir completed a routine victory for England over Zimbabwe on Day 3 of the one-off Test at Trent Bridge as the visitors collapsed to 255 all-out after being asked to follow on. Sean Williams' 88 sparked hope for the Chevrons but Shoaib Bashir's six wickets sealed matters with conviction.

Resuming on an overnight score of 30/2, Sean Williams and Ben Curran adopted contrasting but equally effective measures to counteract significant swing under overcast skies in the morning session of Day 3. The former dealt in boundaries, scoring for large phases at over run-a-ball, while a resolute Curran dug in to avoid the hosts many openings. When he did offer chances, Stokes dropped them twice while DRS helped overturn a LBW decision in his favour, but the duo's luck ultimately ran out on the brink of Lunch as Bashir scalped Williams 12 short of a ton to break the 122-run stand.
England struck soon after Lunch as Curran lobbed Bashir straight to short-cover but Wessly Madhavere and Sikander Raza seized back momentum with a rapid stand of 65 replete with boundaries. It took a spectacular overhead grab from Brook at slip to send Wesley back for 31, marking the beginning of a collapse that saw the visitors fall from 207/4 to 255 all-out. Bashir sent Tafadzwa Tsiga and Blessing Muzarabani back to the hunt in consecutive overs and then ended a counterattacking knock of 60 from Raza to complete his fifer. The offie added a cherry on the top by taking the match's final wicket an over later and secure England a massive victory to begin their home Test summer.
