IPL final, RCB vs PBKS | Twitter stunned as Jitesh makes Dilscoop meet Supla to leave Jamieson aghast

Not every mistake in cricket has the same price -- fail to connect a wide delivery and you might lose a wicket, but fail to hit a bumper and you might lose your head. Imagine then the guts it takes to willfully put yourself under such duress, because that is what Jitesh Sharma did on Tuesday.

‌Royal Challengers Bengaluru built around Virat Kohli's anchoring knock of 43 from 35 deliveries to be well placed at 132/4 at the 15-over mark, against Punjab Kings inthe IPL 2025 final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, given the flat deck on offer, no score under 200 was going to be safe, which meant the Red and Golden Army needed a grandstand finish to remain in the race for the trophy. Fortunately for them, it was Jitesh Sharma that walked in once their talisman was dismissed, and not only did he execute his role to the T but provided an all-time highlight reel moment in the process.

The wicket-keeper batter had already declared his intentions with two boundaries off Arshdeep Singh as soon as he walked in but saved his best for Kyle Jamieson in the 17th over. The Kiwi pacer, having aready taken two scalps, steamed in from over the wicket and delivered a typical back of a length riser directed at Jitesh. While viewers debated in their heads whether the batter would go for a hook, dab, cut, or duck, Jitesh bent down his front knee and patiently waited for the Kookaburra to arrive, before at the very last moment ducking his head out of the way and with a phenomenal whip of the wrist sent the ball sailing straight over the keeper's head for a maximum. If Tillekeratne Dilshan had made hitting straight over the stumps a phenomenon with the Dilscoop and Suryakumar Yadav perfected the art of using his wrists to score behind the wicket, Jitesh had married the two concepts to play one of the most ridiculous shots witnessed on a cricket field.

Twitterati was as stunned as Jamieson was, whose face made all kinds of shapes in shock and awe.

What a shot!

That's brilliant!

Hold my beer!

Ohhhhh!

What a player he is!

When the team needs him the most!

Hahaha!

LOL!

New shot in the market!
