New Zealand outplayed South Africa in the T20I Tri-series match at the Harare Sports Club. Tim Robinson and Bevon Jacobs star with a 100-run partnership, while Matt Henry and Jacob Duffy subdue the threat caused by Brevis and Linde to ensure 21-run win to open their account in the tournament.

‌The New Zealand team might not have started well, losing half their side for just 74 runs in the first 10 overs. However, a brilliant partnership between Tim Robinson and Bevon Jacobs turned the tide, as the young duo went on to put on 103 runs for the sixth wicket to bring their team to a total of 173/5. Robinson brought up his highest score in T20I’s scoring 74 off 57 deliveries, while Jacobs contributed with well well-composed knock of 44 off 30 balls
The target set by New Zealand was always going to be a challenge on a slow and dry surface in Harare. Though the Proteas had started well at the start of the powerplay, with Lhuan-dre Pretorius playing some explosive shots in the first three overs, a couple of wickets fell in the following two, which put them under pressure. The nightmare for the Proteas did not stop there as they eventually lost half their side for just 62 runs in the ninth over. While Dewald Brevis (35 off 18) and George Linde ( 30 off 20) deliveries tried their best to win the game, they were unfortunately bowled out for 152 and lost the game by 21-runs as Kiwi pacers Matt Henry and Jacob Duffy keep their nerves at the death and end the game with three wickets each.
