South Africa has started their T20I tri-series campaign with a comprehensive five-wicket win against Zimbabwe. George Linde shines in the first innings with a three-wicket spell, while Brevis-Hermann partnership helps the Proteas get over the line at the Harare Sports Club.

‌South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl, and the  Proteas bowlers straight away put pressure on the hosts. The Chevrons posted a total of 141/6 in the 20 overs, with Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza carrying the team with a wonderfully paced half-century, remaining unbeaten on a score of 54 off just 38 deliveries. The top-performing bowler for the Rainbow Nation was George Linde, who finished with figures of 3/10.
The Visitors did not start their chase in great fashion and were at one point struggling at 38/3 in the first six overs. However, all it took was an incredible fourth-wicket partnership between Dewald Brevis and Rubin Hermann to bring the game back in control. Despite the incredible efforts by Zimbabwe pacers Richard Ngarava and Trevor Gwandu, the Rassie van der Dussen-led side finished the game in 15.5 overs and won the game by five wickets.

Dewald Brevis was adjudged the player of the match for his quickfire knock of 41 off 17 deliveries.
