KKR vs LSG | Twitter in splits as Digvesh finds loophole for write-off celebration after dispatching his idol

What is sport without emotion, passion, and fierce competition -- no wonder it draws comparisons with wars. Despite the rules that restrict those things turning into animosity, Digvesh Rathi continued to rattle authority on Tuesday by continuing his trademark celebration despite being fined for it.

Lucknow Super Giants set the Kolkata Knight Riders a daunting target of 239 after being asked to bat first at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday. However, the hosts seemed up to the task as they marauded through to 90/1 in the powerplay -- the second highest in the history -- courtesy of stome stunning shotmaking from Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane. By the time Digvesh Rathi came in to bowl at the end of fielding restrictions, the partnership had grown to a dangerous 51 off just 23 deliveries, and a canonical moment in the game loomed. Boy did it arrive in some style.

Rathi began with a length ball against Rahane who nudged it for a single, bringing Narine on strike. The Caribbean opener wasted no time in going after the leggie as he heaved a turning wide and full delivery down the ground, but failed to find a good enough connection as Aiden Markram swallowed a simple catch at long-off. Digvesh was ecstatic, but anticipation loomed of whether he would retort to the incoinc write-off celebration again, despite being fined a significant proportion of his match fees both times he has tried it in the season on top of earning three demerit points. Yet, Rathi was not one to abandon his celebration.

The mystery spinner this time kneeled to the ground and pretended to write the name of Narine, someone he has repeatedly mentioned in the past, before striking off the Trinidadian's name with aplomb. Twitter could not be more entertained.

Again!
