No wonder one always tends to kick off their international beginning on a high. Australia’s Jake Fraser-McGurk bore a lot of anticipation among the fans ahead of his T20I debut but it turned out to be a nightmare as the youngster failed to flourish against Scotland in the first T20I in Edinburgh.

Winning the toss and choosing to field first turned out beneficial for the Aussies after Xavier Bartlett gave a perfect start with the ball in the second over. Yet, the Scottish players managed to pile up 56 runs in the powerplay, and eventually get 154 runs on the board. Eyeing to chase down the total, Jake Fraser-McGurk, on his T20I debut, paired with Travis Head in the second innings but failed to get off the mark in his International T20 career after a sorrowful humiliation.

Following a couple of dots, Brandon McMullen bowled a short ball outside the stumps that Fraser-McGurk intended to pull. However, he incurred a top edge and the ball flew beyond the mid-wicket region from where Charlie Cassell sprinted back and grasped the ball to complete the catch. The Aussie youngster was left in tatters following his dismissal as he trudged off the field with a bronze duck on debut. The Twitterverse expected something big from the exciting prospect but was disappointed for him.

Oh dear!!!

What have you done boy!!

That's so unlucky!

And the danger departs!

Dayummmmmmm!

Can't believe that he will hold a duck on his debut!

Better luck next time!

Hurts!

That's very bad!

Zero!
