Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Tripura made the most out of some good weather in Jaipur as the teams cruised to important wins in their first match of the 2019 season. Roosh Kalaria, Abhinav Mukund and Milind Kumar starred for the three teams helping them put up four points on the points table.

Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Tripura started off their season in the best fashion possible by notching up impressive victories on the first day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. While a majority of the matches were washed out due to rain, these teams were lucky enough to get a game, but ensured that they made the most out of it by walking away with all four points. Unsurprisingly, for all three teams, the usual suspects were in action as they stepped up their game to see their teams over the finish line.

Gujarat vs Bengal

Gujarat 253/8 (50) beat Bengal 215 all-out (46.2) by 38 runs.

Shreevats Goswami's heroic 79 went in vain as Bengal slumped to a heavy defeat at the hands of Gujarat. Roosh Kalaria (4/34) starred for the Gujarat with the ball while with the bat, Bhargav Merai (63) stole the show.

Tamil Nadu vs Rajasthan

Tamil Nadu 262/4 (48) beat Rajasthan 261/9 (50) by 6 wickets.

After Krishnamoorthy Vignesh (3/34) restricted Rajasthan to a par score of 261, Abhinav Mukund (75), Baba Aparajith (52) and Dinesh Karthik (52*) ensured that Tamil Nadu breezed to victory. Arjith Gupta (77) was all but the only lone warrior for Rajasthan on the day.

Tripura vs Jammu and Kashmir

Tripura 198-8 (44.1) beat Jammu and Kashmir 197 all-out (43.2) by 2 wickets.

After Harmeet Singh (3/32) ran through J&K's top order, Milind Kumar, the superstar of the 2018 edition, starred on his debut with a sensational 69-ball 77 to guide Tripura to a marginal win. J&K's Umar Nazir Mir gave it his all but his efforts (3/45) weren't enough to stop Tripura.
