VIDEO | Rishabh Pant's slog attempt goes in vain as flying bat lands near Jos Buttler

The one thing that stands Rishabh Pant out is his incredible bat swing through which he generates immense power and clears the biggest of boundaries. In the high-voltage encounter against England, Pant swung as hard as possible but without any connection and his bat landed next to the keeper.

After a rocky start, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli steadied the Indian ship with a tenacious partnership. After Virat Kohli’s dismissal, Pant took guard at four in what happened to be his World Cup debut. The pressure was humongous and the situation demanded to attack from the word go.

After getting his eyes in, the pocket dynamite was all set to cut loose and unleash a barrage of big strokes. On the first delivery of the 36th over, Pant swung his bat with everything he had in his powerhouse but was beaten by the change in pace. He failed to get any connection with the ball due to which lost the grip and his bat went flying near Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

All Pant could do about it was laugh and get on with his duty. However, he couldn't continue for long and was dismissed by Liam Plunkett in the 40th over of the run-chase.
