Ravindra Jadeja has stated that the duo of skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is quite dangerous when they bat in a full flow and no one can stop them playing like tigers. The all-rounder has added that the duo played proper cricketing shots on their way to a blistering 246-run partnership.

After a massive show by two genius - Virat Kohli (140) and Rohit Sharma (152 not out) - a partnership that yielded India 246 runs for the second wicket, India chased down a 323-run target with proficient ease and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match ODI series. Ravindra Jadeja, who delivered a figure of 2/66 explained his observation with Virat and Rohit and talked about how they are supremely dangerous.

“If they are set, it’s tough to get them out. They can hit groundstrokes and in the air with equal ease. It becomes tough against such batters,” “They played proper cricketing shots. They did not take any chances, they were just playing according to the situation,” said the left-arm spinner, reported PTI.

Jadeja stated that the situation was ideal for batting as India had apprehensions about the behaviour of wicket while keeping in mind to chase the stiff target.

“The wicket was also very good to bat on. It was not spinning or swinging much. The ball was coming nicely to bat. It was an ideal condition for the batsmen.

“After they scored 320-plus, we did not know how it will behave in the second half. But after the start, we got following Dhawan’s wicket we thought we could chase it down. Overall it stayed true throughout the game.”

India decided to play three seamers because of the unsure factors of the wicket, but they were battered to the submission. Jadeja, however, defended the decision.

"We didn’t know how the wicket would behave, this being the first ODI here. We thought three seamers will help to contain the batsmen in the Powerplay,” he said.
