Javagal Srinath and S Ravi retain previous positions as ICC elite panel of match officials

One of India’s most renowned fast-bowlers, Javagal Srinath was known for his intellect and his ability to read between the lines during his playing days. He built on these same skills as he was appointed to the panel of ICC Match Referees in the past. 

And now the International Cricket Council has opted to retain the likes of Javagal and Sundaram Ravi who is part of the umpires’ panel. Ravi would continue to remain a part of the top group of international umpires for the period July 1 to June 30, 2019. ICC announced an unchanged list of elite match officials today following the annual review and selection process, the governing body said in a statement.

Ravi was elected to the panel in 2015 which made him just the second Indian umpire after Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan ever to be a member of the Elite panel.

The ICC Umpires Selection Panel consisted of Chairman and ICC General Manager - Cricket, Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle, former England player and commentator - David Lloyd, and former India captain and international umpire Srinivas Venkataraghavan.

The umpires' panel includes Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Ravi, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker.

The panel of ICC Match Referees comprises David Boon, Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andy Pycroft, Javagal Srinath and Richie Richardson, all former Test players.
