Outstation players to be part of third edition of TNPL

TNCA, in a press release on Wednesday, has stated that the outstation players, who are looking forward to taking part in the league, should be an uncapped player and shouldn't have participated in the recently concluded IPL 2018. But, the players need to take the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective state associations so as to participate in the league. 

"Allowing up to two outstation players for each franchise is bound to increase the quality of cricket and the level of competition. Playing alongside and against outstation players will further sharpen the skills of our players, and that was the thought behind the move," TNCA joint secretary RI Palani said in a press release.

Players like Hanuma Vihari, Sheldon Jackson, Unmukt Chand, Dharmendra Jadeja, Shorab Dhaliwal, Amit Verma, Raiphi Vincent Gomez and Shaurya Sanandia are some of the players expected to partake in the league.

The state association's decision to allow outstation players for the league came on the basis of the new resolution that came into effect during BCCI's special general body meeting (SGM) on June 22. However, the decisions taken at the last SGM has been criticised by the COA and was called "null and void" by the Vinod Rai-led committee.
