The Pink Day is a special day in the South African cricket as it is celebrated to raise funds for cancer patients across the African nation. All the money generated from the match will be going to the charity funds for the Breast Cancer Clinic at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

The organizers and Cricket South Africa are aspiring to raise a fund of greater than 1 million Rand and that is expected to rise from the sale of bracelets designed by sunglass enthusiast David Tlale, especially for this match. The entire South African team will be observing the ODI with pink outfits and by sporting the bracelet.

While 23,000 people are attending the game in person, they are also advised to come and watch the match in a pink outfit themselves to showcase their support for the breast cancer awareness. The hashtag #PitchUpInPink will be used on various social media like Twitter and Facebook to get the fans into the spirit of the occasion.

The match is expected to give a struggling South African team some inspiration to bring their best to the fore as they are yet to lose a game in the five ODIs they have played in pink. Their run also includes a match against India in December 2013, which they won by 141 runs after a Quinton de Kock special.
