India vs Australia | We are up against a world class bowling attack, says Nathan Lyon

At stumps on the fourth day of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, the Indian team was in total command with only two wickets needed for a win and take a lead of 2-1 in the series while Australia still needs 141 runs to win the Test match on the fifth day. The blame for the failure in the match is being pinned on the Australian batters but off-spinner Nathan Lyon fiercely defended his team’s batting unit.

"I see how much hard work the guys are doing in the nets and in training. We know they are working hard and not going out to fail. They have all my support," Lyon said at the end of fourth day's play to PTI.

On the other hand, the Indian bowling unit has been the cynosure of all eyes putting one after the other record-breaking performances. Today the Indian pace trio broke another record of taking most number of wickets in a calendar year. The Indian trio of Jasprit  Bumrah, Muhammed Shami and Ishant Sharma together have taken 131 wickets in 2018 and have thus broken a 34-year-old record of the legendary West Indian troika of Joel Garner, Michael Holding and Malcolm Marshall who now stand second with 130 scalps to their names.

"We are up against a world-class bowling attack, one of the best Indian attacks I have ever seen. They are disappointed but I know how hard they are working. Success for them is around the corner," he added.

"Pat Cummins has been exceptional in this match and he keeps getting better every day. I enjoy batting with pat helps calm down my nerves and it was an exciting challenge. It was a pretty special knock from "him.

With 141 runs to score from 84 overs, the hosts would hope that the rain forecasts to come true. On the other hand, the visitors would not want to extend their anxiety and would hope to make quick work of the last two Australian wickets.
