Double trouble for Kirti Azad; Hockey India and DDCA to take him to court

Hockey India chief Narinder Batra said that he will file a Rs. 10 crore civil and criminal defamation suit against the former cricketer within the next week to stop the MP from bringing disrepute to the hockey body.

“In all the press conferences, Azad has been defaming HI along DDCA. He has been alleging fraud in HI and now we want him to prove all of that in court. We have patient all this while but now even we can’t handle it anymore,” Batra told .

“Kirti Azad was going on and on defaming us in public. While we were ignoring him for a long time but it really urged us to do something about him. He has been terming HI as a fraudulent organisation and is levelling allegations of irregularities against us. It was time that we took some action and decided to go to the court,” added the HI president.

Meanwhile, DDCA vice president Chetan Chauhan filed a criminal defamation case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former cricketer Kirti Azad on Thursday for alleging corruption and irregularities in the cricket governing body.
