When India needed Hardik Pandya to stay and support the skipper Virat Kohli, he threw away his wicket by casually jogging towards the danger end. But this did not have any effect on Kohli as he continued to steady the ship by scoring a brilliant 100 and help India cut the lead down to 29.
Brief
Here are the funny tweets from the game:
This is how we start the day! -_-
Hardik Pandya. Wowww!!
— Prabhu 🏏 (@Cricprabhu)
Bumrah hits headlines often for crossing the line, Pandya does for not crossing one !!. ScreenGrab courtesy Sony Ten 1.
Today Hardik Pandya proved he is more dumber than Alia Bhatt.
— Waѕiyullah Budye (@WasiyullahB)
But at least we got a record out of it. YAY!
This is the first time in history that the No. 3 and No. 7 batsmen of each side have been run out in their respective first innings of a Test.

But thankfully the captain kept the hope alive!
Quite simply, one of the best innings I have seen from Kohli.
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha)
Interesting to hear Kohli on the stump mike literally counting down the deficit. This has been a crucial partnership but India need it to keep going given the batting prowess to follow.

Meanwhile Indian fans...
— Tabrez (@its_tabrez_4u)
Oh, what would we do without you, Virat Kohli!
Kohli as captain in Tests:
— Bharath Seervi (@SeerviBharath)
Home: 7 100s in 32 inns
Away: 7 100s in 22 inns
And he is level with the great Don Bradman!
Most 150+ as Test Captain:
— Broken Cricket (@BrokenCricket)
8 ~ Don Bradman
8 ~ Virat Kohli
But sadly India right now...
Kohli is playing like Tendulkar in the 1990s.
— Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats)
Unfortunately, the rest of the team is also playing like the rest of the team in the 1990s.
Saha: Do you miss me?
Even with his hamstring niggle Saha would have caught that.
— Anand Vasu (@anandvasu)
Virat doesn't look happy!
fighting with match referee for stopping play due to bad lights.
— Shivraj Singh Negi (@justshiv)
Missing calmness!
