Lahiri shot a brilliant bogey free nine-under 61 to get to 12 under 128 on the mountain course resort at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The move positioned him at the top of the log tables, until Kelly Kraft stroke a 7-under 63 to score a one-shot lead over him and Webb Simpson who tied-second with Anirban.
Anirban started from 10th and earned a birdie in the first three holes. He added another one on 14th, becoming 4-under through six holes. With another five holes unproductive, he scored another three birdie from second to fourth and two more on eight and ninth.
“I've been feeling good the last two weeks. I've seen the improvement on the golf course. More than anything else, I haven't dropped a shot (this week),” Anirban said to TOI.
Aditi Ashok, on the other hand, earned seven birdies against two bogeys for a five-under 67. With this, she made a jump from her tied-54th position to tied-22nd. She was eight-under and eight shots behind leader Sei Young Kim of Korea.
Four Indian golfers - Gaganjeet Bhullar (68, 68, 66, 71), Himmat Rai (68, 67, 70, 68), Ajeetesh Sandhu (68, 71, 67, 67), and S Chikkarangappa (70, 67, 70, 66) are tied 11th at the Sarawak Championship at Kuching, Malaysia.
