Mairaj Ahmad Khan could shoot a qualifying round score of 121 out of 125 that was enough to see him out of the final ISSF Shotgun World Cup although only just. After being forced to pull out midway alongside Angad Bajwa yesterday, Khan looked quite comfortable and confident today.
The ISSF World Cup stage medal winner in skeet, shot rounds of 24, 25 and 23 early and was very much in contention for a qualification shoot-off for the last four final spots. But it was only until the 21st shot of his last round following which he missed to eventually end in 11th.
Khan’s compatriot, Sheeraz Sheikh had a marvellous start to the campaign on Friday where he shot a perfect score of 50. But, Saturday was different for him as well as he could shoot rounds of 21, 24 and 24 tallying 119 that saw him end in the 33rd position.
The trap-shooting competitions would start after a weekend break on Monday.
