Manchester United is finalizing a deal worth £29.4 million (£25.2m plus £4.2m in add-ons) to sign 20-year-old Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu. United prioritized a left-back signing this window, marking Dorgu rapid rise from FC Nordsjaelland academy.

For the past few weeks, Manchester United has been actively pursuing a deal for Lecce’s promising left-back, Patrick Dorgu, and is now on the verge of completing the transfer. The 20-year-old Danish international is set to join United for a fee of £25.2 million, with an additional £4.2 million in performance-based add-ons, bringing the total deal close to £30 million.

Dorgu, who has made 53 Serie A appearances for Lecce since arriving from Nordsjaelland in 2022, is expected to fly to Manchester on Wednesday to undergo a medical and finalize the transfer.

United has prioritized signing a left wing-back in this transfer window, and Dorgu fits their long-term vision. His rapid rise has caught the attention of top European clubs, but he has shown a strong desire to join United. His journey from Denmark to Italy has been remarkable, with Lecce recognizing his talent early on and developing him into a key player.

Meanwhile, United remains engaged in negotiations with Napoli over Alejandro Garnacho’s potential departure, though they are hesitant to sell unless presented with a substantial offer. With the January transfer window in full swing, United’s latest moves signal a push to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
