Juventus have secured an agreement with Feyenoord to sign defender David Hancko for around €22 million in the summer. The 27-year-old Slovakian was their top target in January, but Feyenoord refused to sell mid-season. Hancko, who has been at Feyenoord since 2022, will sign a five-year deal with Juventus, earning €2.5 million per season.

The way Juventus approached the transfer market in January suggests they were determined to reinforce their defence. Despite their efforts, the club couldn’t secure their primary target, David Hancko, from Feyenoord during the winter window. The Dutch club was unwilling to part ways with the 27-year-old Slovakian centre-back, especially after already selling another key player, Santiago Giménez.

However, Juventus didn’t give up and reportedly struck an agreement with Feyenoord to sign Hancko in the summer for approximately €22 million. Additionally, the club has already reached personal terms with the player, who is expected to sign a five-year deal worth €2.5 million per season.

To temporarily fill the defensive gaps caused by injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, Juventus brought in Renato Veiga on loan from Chelsea and Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle United with an obligation to buy. Despite these signings, Hancko remains their long-term solution.

The Slovakian defender, who previously played for Fiorentina, has established himself as a key player at Feyenoord since 2022. Juventus hopes his versatility, as both a centre-back and left-back, will strengthen their squad for the upcoming seasons. With the agreement in place, the club is now working to finalize the deal without any last-minute surprises.
