You cannot compare Pele to anyone even Lionel Messi, proclaims Tite

Brazil head coach Tite has dismissed Lionel Messi as the greatest footballer ever and has insisted that the Argentine cannot be compared to Pele. The Argentine is considered to be a modern legend of the game alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and some even consider Messi to be greater than Pele.

There’s a reason that the last decade or so has been dominated by two men and two men only in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi with a few others making their mar here and there. However, while the two forwards have been beyond brilliant over the last decade, it’s Messi who many consider to be a part of the greatest-to-ever-play-football debate alongside Diego Maradona and Pele.

But Tite has dismissed the Argentine’s credentials as the greatest footballer of all-time despite Messi’s goals, number of trophies and even his sheer skill on the field. The Brazil head-coach even went on admit that comparisons shouldn’t be made between the Messi and Pele but also revealed that Barcelona superstar is beyond extraordinary.

"Pele is incomparable. Anybody who wants to compare Pele to any other athlete...do you know what I do? I hear but I don`t listen. It's as if this person doesn't know the history of this man's quality... this guy was phenomenal. Once I said that Messi is extraordinary,” said Tite reports Goal.

"I meant he's extraordinary to the present time and among humans, with his creativity. Pele is out of normal patterns and I'm not saying this because I'm a Brazilian. You can't find a defect. If somebody comes to me and starts to make comparisons, for me it has no credibility."
