Tottenham broke their transfer record when they brought in Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyon and are now looking to break it again within the space of a month. The North London side have been heavily linked with a move for Giovani Lo Celso even before they were linked with a move for Ndombele, with the club set to finally solidify their interest in the midfielder.
The Mirror has reported that the North Londoners are set to submit a £70 million bid for the former PSG star, with Real Betis keen on getting a fee somewhere close to his £88 million release clause. That would effectively make him one of the most expensive midfielders in world football history.
The 23-year-old only made his loan spell from PSG permanent on July 1, but has handed in a transfer request earlier this month. Betis have no problem with that, with the Mirror reporting that the La Liga side are moving to agree a five-year deal for Olympique Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir worth around £22 million.
It’s a move that allows Tottenham the space and the time to get a deal done for Los Celso, with Mauricio Pochettino desperately trying to land the Argentine midfielder. They’ve also been linked with a move for Dani Ceballos but have stepped out of that deal, allowing rivals Arsenal to take the lead.
