We will not rule out signing new left-back, reveals Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool’s eyes are open when it comes to the transfer market, but they are keeping their options open when it comes to back-up stars. The Reds have lost Alberto Moreno on a free transfer and that leaves Andrew Robertson as their only bonafide left-back.

Liverpool came agonizingly close to a Premier League title last season and if it wasn’t for Manchester City, then the Reds would have had a double to their name. But their season wasn’t all that bad, with them walking away with the UEFA Champions League trophy.

This season should hopefully see the club continue their domestic form, with the aim of ending their long Premier League title drought. But to do that, they need depth in their squad and one area that might prove problematic is at left-back. Andrew Robertson has proven himself to be a world-class option but the Scottish international cannot play every minute of every game.

To make things even worse, Alberto Moreno has left the club on a free transfer this summer, which leaves the club with no bonafide back-up. But even then, Jurgen Klopp isn’t too worried, with the Liverpool boss revealing as such in an interview with ESPN.

"I said already, we have to think about everything, and in the end maybe we do nothing, but we will see. As you can imagine, we will have a look at all the things around us,” Klopp said.

“Of course we have lost a left-back , and today you saw two pretty young ones [Larouci and Lewis], while James  has played it and all that stuff,” he concluded.
