Manchester City’s B team will win title before Arsenal or Manchester United, says Jose Mourinho

Serial winner and former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has lavished praise on Manchester City, saying their B side is strong enough to win the Premier League. The Cityzens are on course to win their third consecutive title, thanks to an emphatic Gameweek 1 win over West Ham United.

Manchester City may be led by his eternal rival Pep Guardiola and are on course to win a third consecutive Premier League title, but that hasn’t stopped Jose Mourinho from praising them. The former Manchester United manager, who has battled against Guardiola’s teams in two separate leagues over the course of his career, is now working for Sky Sports as an expert.

But his past with the Red Devils and Guardiola himself didn’t stop Mourinho, with him lavishing praise on the Spaniard’s team during the post-match show. He also went on to rule out any hope that Manchester United or Arsenal have at winning a Premier League title.

“Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City B team. When I looked at the bench [against West Ham], the players not involved, I think the B team could fight for the title. We would love United, Chelsea and Arsenal to also be at that level, it would be something incredible.

“But we are speaking about a team that won everything in England, we are speaking about the European champion and the European runner-up. Then we are talking about United sixth, and playing Europa League and Arsenal fifth and Europa League too. As a start, you need to win the Europa League. When you go to a competition like that, you have to win. If they finish in the top four [in the league], it is a good season,” he remarked.
