ENG vs AUS | Twitter in splits as Green gives Southampton taste of Aussie football in stunning fashion

Apart from their cricketing legacies, England and Australia share the tendency to put the sport on the back burner while enjoying their respective brands of football. However, Cameron Green let Southampton know which of them ruled the roost with a sensational catch and a hilarious celebration.

Australia ran out comfortable winners in the end in the first T20I at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday after bowling out England 29 short of the 180-run target. Travis Head's rapid half-century in the first innings was followed by a middle-order collapse but the hosts responded in kind and by the time Marcus Stoinis took the ball for the penultimate over with 39 needed and two wickets to spare, the encounter was practically done and dusted. Even so, the crowd remained in high spirits as they cheered on every slight bit of action before Cameron Green put them put of their misery by giving them something really spectacular to genuinely be in awe of.

Adil Rashid was up against the Hulk when he tried to slice the third ball over covers with a gung-ho swing. However, he failed to connect properly and the ball soared towards mid-off and was destined for the no man's land. Unperturbed, the towering figure of Green tracked back quickly with eyes firmly set on the ball before heaving himself backwards to grab a spectacular catch over his shoulders with his lanky arms. The all-rounder seemed to have surprised himself with the audacious catch as he sprung to his steps and quickly paid tribute to Aussie rules football given th emanner of catch mimiced the typical efforts of a receiver

To add to the reference, Green goofily kicked the ball away to spark laughter among his teammates and on Twitter.

What a celebration!
