IPL 2024 | Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli flicks off 24.75 Cr Starc with wristy six at Chinnaswamy

Greatness is not just achieved with great performances but with standout shows when the situation gets tougher. The modern-day G.O.A.T Virat Kohli showed his class by hitting a six against one of the best bowlers in Mitchell Starc as RCB squared off against KKR in the Chinnaswamy on Friday.

Like any other day, the toss-winning captain Shreyas Iyer chose to field first, compelling Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis to gear up with the bat for the first innings. In no time, the battle between Kohli and Starc, two modern-day greats in their respective roles, took centre stage against one another. Although only seven runs came off the first over with a Kohli boundary in the first ball, Starc’s next over saw the Indian stalwart take the left-arm pacer to the cleaners.

Amidst the pace-on deliveries, Starc dished an off-cutter at the leg stump line on the second ball of the over at Kohli. The Delhi-born star judged the change of pace on the fuller delivery brilliantly and flicked it over the deep square leg region for a six. The connection between the bat and the ball was sweet, making it more like a classical Kohli whip. As the stroke came against Starc in one of the hyped match-ups of the tournament, the Twitterverse could not stop applauding the former RCB captain.

24.75 Cr just like that! Phewww!
