Shikhar Dhawan joins Legends League Cricket following international retirement

Dhawan has announced his entry into the Legends League Cricket (LLC), a T20 tournament featuring retired international cricketers that took place in the UK last month. This announcement comes just two days after Dhawan declared his retirement from both international and domestic cricket.
The former India star shared that he feels at peace with his decision to retire but is enthusiastic about joining his former cricketing peers in the Legends League Cricket. He is excited to continue captivating fans with his batting prowess and to forge new experiences.
In his statement, Dhawan remarked, “I’m excited to reconnect with my cricketing friends and keep entertaining my fans as we create new moments together.”
In an emotional video posted on his social media handle, the southpaw reflected on achieving his dream of representing Team India at the highest level. Through his career, Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs, and 69 T20Is for India, establishing himself as one of the elite modern openers and contributing to some of the country’s greatest victories.
The Delhi bred now joins former teammates, including Robin Uthappa and Harbhajan Singh, in the Legends League Cricket. The next edition of this highlight event is set to take place in September this year.
