‌SL vs IND | Twitter reacts to fuming Kohli joining charged-up Parag in epic wicket celebration

Sports often bring out an adrenaline rush in athletes, pushing them to their physical and mental limits. Riyan Parag and Virat Kohli experienced something similar as the duo looked charged-up while celebrating crucial wickets during the third ODI against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium.

Winning the coin-flip and electing to bat first did prove to be a great decision from Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka. An 82-run second-wicket stand followed the opening partnership of 89 runs, pushing the Indian contingent on the back foot. In search of crucial breakthroughs, Riyan Parag proved lethal with the ball. He removed Avishka Fernando and Asalanka to make inroads into the home side, leaving Kohli pumped up.

Despite an extended period of dot balls after the fall of the first wicket, Kusal Mendis and Avishka turned the table with a measured approach during the middle overs. With Sri Lanka’s score reading 165/1 in 35 overs, Parag was summoned for a second spell, replacing Axar Patel. Despite a four towards deep mid-wicket that took Avishka to 96, Parag had the last laugh by curtailing him four runs short of a century to earn his debut wicket.

In Parag’s next over, Asalanka failed to judge the turn and got beaten on the outside edge off a good length delivery. As the white cherry skidded off the surface and thudded the pad, the ploy to review the original out decision backfired as the ball tracking displayed three reds. Soon, Parag was seen charged up with Kohli following him. The 35-year-old was seething in celebration, resembling his own self and leaving the Twitterverse into a frenzy.
