Former BCCI selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth has named Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Murali Vijay as his top picks from the time he was in office. The former India skipper was appointed the Chief Selector of the Indian Cricket team in 2008 and stayed in office till 2012.

Following his international retirement, in 1992, Krishmachari Srikkanth has had a lot of stints in the cricket fraternity. After his time as the coach of the India 'A' team, he continued as a broadcaster and commentator with various sports and news channels. The former Tamil Nadu cricketer was also named the ambassador for the Chennai Super Kings franchise of the Indian Premier League. Following that, in September of the same year, he was appointed the Chief Selector of the Indian Cricket team, the tenure of which ended in 2012.

In his time as the chief selector, Srikkanth recognised the talents of the current Indian captain Virat Kohli and considered it as his major accomplishments. Besides the Indian skipper, he also rated his selection of Murali Vijay and Ravichandran Ashwin very highly.

"Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and Murali Vijay are my top picks as a selector, the way they grew and were groomed, I'm really proud of,” said Srikkanth on Cricket Connected on Star Sports 1 Tamil.

Kohli was appointed the Test captain of Team India in 2014 and later became the skipper across all formats in 2017. He is also the best ODI batsman in the world right now and arguably the best batsman across formats, amongst his contemporaries.
